I am a Clinical Psychologist with in excess of 12 years clinical experience. I gained my Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the University of Edinburgh in 2004, and re-located to the North Lancashire area in 2010. I am registered with the Health Professions Council, registration number PYL16628, and I am chartered with the British Psychological Society.
I completed my undergraduate degree in Psychology in 1999. Following this, I undertook my Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at the University of Edinburgh, qualifying in 2004. I worked in both inpatient and outpatient settings within the NHS and have worked independently for the past five years.
Provision of psychological therapy takes up approximately 80% of my working time. Referrals come from GPs, Psychiatrists, Health Insurers, Lawyers and self-referrers and therapy includes treatment of multiple conditions, including depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder and complex grief responses. I am fully trained in several evidence-based therapeutic approaches, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).
