Services I offer
I use time-limited evidence-based psychotherapies, most commonly Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) and Eye Movement De-sensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR). CBT is a psychological treatment that encourages people to develop their ability to identify and challenge negative thoughts, and to re-evaluate possibly unhelpful beliefs about themselves, other people and the world. EMDR is a psychotherapy that has been proven to be effective in treating trauma, and is recommended by the UK’s National Institute of Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE) for Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). Practitioners are also finding it effective in the treatment of other anxiety related disorders. I specialise in treating the psychological effects of trauma and can also help with a wide range of difficulties including:
- Anxiety
- Depression
- Post-traumatic stress disorder
- Obsessive compulsive disorder
- Eating disorders
- Bereavement
